Meet The Team: Andrea

For this month’s spotlight, we’re featuring Andrea, one of our true multi-tasking superheroes.

Andrea joined us in 2018 and has since become an essential part of the team, excelling as a Content QA Specialist across platforms like TerraYou, QuizArena, GimmeMore, and many others. Beyond product testing and creation, she also plays a key role in ensuring safety in the office as our Health and Safety Officer—leading fire safety protocols and first aid training. This diverse role is a perfect fit for Andrea’s background in medicine.

We recently caught up with her to learn more about how she balances these varied responsibilities while continuing to contribute with a smile.

Hi Andrea!

You’ve been with us for over 6 years and moved to Berlin from Romania—how has life in Germany been for you?

Moving to a German-speaking country has certainly been one of the more challenging experiences in my life, especially when it comes to mastering the language. I’m still working on my German, and it’s definitely a continuous journey.

Reflecting on your six years with us, what key moments have defined your journey and growth?

Looking back at my six years here, it’s not the moments that stand out, but the people. Many have helped me along the way, often without realizing their impact. Whether through kind words, advice, or setting an example, each interaction taught me something valuable.

You’ve taken on a lot of responsibility over the years. How do you stay motivated while keeping a healthy balance between work and personal growth?

I’m not sure there’s a clear balance between work and personal growth; they really blend together. When I take on more responsibility at work, it pushes me to learn and grow, which helps my personal development too.

What role has your passion for learning played in your success, and how do you approach mastering new skills and subjects?

Learning was non-negotiable in my family—there were no exceptions or excuses, and that mindset stuck with me. Over time, it became my strange little hobby. To the old recipe, I added a very understanding husband and some noise canceling headphones. But there’s a catch: I can’t force myself to learn something I don’t genuinely enjoy or connect with.

What tools or strategies do you use to stay organized and efficient, especially considering the variety of responsibilities you manage?

I rely on Google Keep—it’s my go-to for staying organized. I also document everything, with each project having its own folders and subfolders. It might seem a bit much, but it keeps things smooth and helps me stay on top of things, even when it gets hectic.

Andrea you are working closely with TerraYou product team and your knowledge of the plattform and brands products is extensive. What has been the most satisfying part of working on this project?

I was involved with TY before the idea even took shape, developing the logic for an early version of the Enneagram Test. It’s been an amazing journey, full of opportunities, challenges, and a fair share of ups and downs, which is exactly what I enjoy. It has been amazing and rewarding to watch TerraYou develop, and the best part is, there’s still so much more to come!

What advice would you give to new team members on building strong relationships and succeeding in the company?

For anyone starting fresh, here are three lessons that have guided me:

·      Stay Curious: Keep asking questions, even if you think you know the answer. Curiosity leads to deeper understanding and better solutions.

·      Embrace Challenges: Growth happens outside your comfort zone. Don’t shy

away from difficult tasks; they often teach you the most.

·      Build Strong Relationships: Success isn’t solo. Invest in those around you, offer help, and don’t hesitate to ask for it. Colleagues’ support will take you further than individual effort.

Every step of this journey has been thanks to those who helped me along the way. I won’t name anyone to avoid leaving someone out, but if you think I’m talking about you, you’re probably right! And if you’re unsure, feel free to take the credit—you’ve earned it!

Andrea's journey with us is a true testament to the power of curiosity, perseverance, and a passion for continuous learning. From mastering new skills to making valuable contributions across multiple areas of the company, she sets an incredible example for all of us. Her ability to balance diverse responsibilities while staying motivated and connected with the team is truly inspiring.

Thank you, Andrea, for sharing your story and for everything you do. Your dedication, both to your work and to the people around you, makes a lasting impact.

We’re lucky to have you on the team, and we’re excited to see where your journey takes you next!
